SMS Terms
Draft, last updated 23 October 2026
1. The program
Texts from the Dead sends one recurring automated text a day, at about 8:00 in your local time zone, containing a quotation from a public-domain work. You also get a welcome text when you sign up, with your first quote, and occasional service messages about your subscription.
2. Your consent
When you sign up, you tick a box agreeing to this:
I agree to receive one recurring automated text a day from Texts from the Dead. Consent is not a condition of purchase. Msg & data rates may apply. Reply STOP or use the link in any text to cancel.
We keep a record of the wording you agreed to, when and from which IP address.
3. Message frequency and cost
- One text a day, plus the welcome text and occasional service messages.
- Message and data rates may apply, depending on your mobile plan.
4. How to stop the texts
- United States and Canada: reply STOP to any of our texts.
- United Kingdom and Australia: our texts come from a sender name (FromTheDead), which can't receive replies. Use the opt-out link included in every text.
- Opting out cancels your subscription immediately, so you aren't charged for texts you no longer receive. You can also cancel from the Manage subscription page.
5. Help
In the United States and Canada, reply HELP to any text. Anywhere, email support@textsfromthedead.com.
6. Where we send from
- United States and Canada: a verified toll-free number.
- United Kingdom: the sender name FromTheDead.
- Australia: a registered sender name.
7. Delivery
Mobile carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. We send only to numbers in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom and Australia.
8. Privacy
We don't share your mobile number or your consent to receive texts with anyone for their own marketing. See our Privacy Policy.
