Privacy Policy
Draft, last updated 23 October 2026
1. Who we are
Kieran Lear, of Suite RA01, 195-197 Wood Street, London E17 3NU, is responsible for the personal information described here. Contact: support@textsfromthedead.com.
2. What we collect
- Your mobile number, email address and country.
- Your time zone, taken from your browser at signup or, if that isn't available, set from your country, so your text arrives at 8:00 your time.
- A record of your consent to receive texts: the wording you agreed to, when you agreed and the IP address you agreed from.
- Your plan, subscription status and billing history.
- Payment details, which Stripe collects and holds. We never see or store your full card number.
- Delivery and opt-out events for the messages we send you.
- Basic, aggregated website analytics from Vercel Analytics, which does not use cookies.
3. How we use it
- To provide your subscription, send your daily text at the right local time and take payment (to perform our contract with you).
- To keep a record of your consent to receive texts, and to meet tax, accounting and other legal obligations (legal obligation and our legitimate interests).
- To limit free trials to one per phone number and to handle payment disputes (our legitimate interests in preventing abuse).
- To understand how our website is used and improve it (our legitimate interests).
4. Who we share it with
We use these providers to run the service:
- Stripe, for payments and subscription billing.
- Klaviyo, to send texts and our emails.
- Supabase, to host our database.
- Vercel, to host the website and provide analytics.
Mobile carriers handle your number to deliver our texts. We may also share information with professional advisers, or with authorities where the law requires it. We do not sell your personal information or share it for advertising.
5. International transfers
Some of our providers process data outside the UK, including in the United States. Where they do, we rely on legal safeguards such as UK adequacy regulations or the UK International Data Transfer Agreement.
6. How long we keep it
We keep your information while you are subscribed. After you cancel, we keep your phone number, whether you have had a free trial and your consent record so we can apply the one-trial rule and show that you agreed to receive texts. We keep payment records for as long as tax law requires (six years in the UK).
7. Your rights
- In the UK: you can ask to access, correct or delete your information, to restrict or object to how we use it, and to receive a copy of it. You can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
- In the United States: depending on your state, you can ask to know, correct or delete the personal information we hold about you. We do not sell or share it for targeted advertising.
- In Canada and Australia: you can ask to access and correct your information, and complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada or the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.
To use any of these rights, email support@textsfromthedead.com.
8. Security
Your information is held by our providers with access limited to the server code that runs the service.
9. Children
The service is for people aged 18 and over.
10. Changes
If we change this policy in a way that matters to you, we will email you before the change takes effect.
